Ashton Keynes, Wiltshire 2017

Ashton Keynes

Took place on 24 Feb 2017

This event has already taken place.

Here is the AK Window Wanderland Trail Map 17 for you to print out, how FANTASTIC that 55 homes are taking part 🙂

For the first time ever, Window Wanderland is coming to Ashton Keynes and we’d love you to take part. Joining in the fun is FREE. All local residents and local businesses are invited to light up their windows on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th February 2017 from 5.30pm to 9pm, creating a magical walking trail around the village.

We’d like you to make a simple (or not so simple) window display that would be visible from the street that represents and shares something about you, e.g. brightly coloured tissue paper flowers if you love gardening; sailing boats if you spend you weekends on the lakes, if you have a dog, you could make silhouettes of your pet. Putting your fairy lights back up, hanging up a favourite dress you never get to wear, leaving a book on the table, or your favourite film on the TV, your cat on the sofa. All of these tell a story and people looking into these windows will start conversations, create connections, and this is what Window Wanderland is about.

Everyone is invited to walk around the village to enjoy our very own street exhibition. Pick up a map from the Village Shop, The White Hart, or from Ashton Keynes C of E Primary School and wander the illuminated streets at your leisure.

Ashton Keynes Window Wanderland will be officially opened by Mrs Saville at Ashton Keynes C of E Primary School at 5.30 pm when she will turn on the lights of the school display. Then wander off at your leisure.

The deadline to be included on the printed map has passed, but you can still sign up and be part of it.

Ashton Keynes Window Wanderland is organised by Ashton Keynes C of E Primary School. To contact the co-ordinator, click on the button below or email AKwindowwanderland@gmail.com
