We are pleased to announce the second year of Milngavie’s Window Wanderland. As always, the success of last year’s event was down to the incredible efforts of local residents, community groups, schools and town centre businesses for their wonderful window displays.
Window Wanderland was inspired by Lucy Reeves Khan, who came up with the idea in 2015, after her career as a designer ended abruptly and an accident left her disabled. Since then, it has inspired other communities to organise their own winter walking trails such as: Ayr, Maryhill and Govan. This is not only a regional event, it is also a worldwide event in countries such as Ireland, Canada and France.
We are encouraging all the local Milngavie community to open their curtains and create window displays to amuse, entertain, and enthrall each other for a weekend of fun. We are looking for the local community and schools to also help decorate some of the ‘donated’ business windows to create an inclusive and wonderful winter walking trail, which everyone can participate in by coming out to enjoy.
The event in Milngavie is being organised by the Milngavie Business Improvement District, working with the local community.
Thanks for reading.
