Help us create Cleethorpes first Window Wanderland
Get involved and help transform our streets into a magical window wanderland gallery. Have fun creating an illuminated window display in your home, business, or school as part of Cleethorpes’ first Window Wanderland. We are encouraging residents, local businesses, community groups and local schools to take part by creating an illuminated window display.
Successful Window Wanderland events have been taking place around the country since 2015. Cleethorpes first Window Wanderland is being organised and promoted by DiscoverNEL and North East Lincolnshire Council.
Unfortunately due to Covid19 we are unable to host our usual Christmas Lights Switch On event, so this year we are very excited to introduce this new event to Cleethorpes which will focus on bringing the community together in a Covid safe way.
Dress your windows in ‘An Arctic Adventure’ theme. This can be as spectacular as you like or as simple as you want, as long as it’s family friendly.
When is it?
Cleethorpes Window Wanderland will take place from Thursday 10th December until Sunday 13th December. Everyone is encouraged to get involved by illuminating their display between the hours of 5pm and 9pm, creating an after dark walking trail for the community to enjoy.
Need Inspiration?
Keep an eye out on the DiscoverNEL Facebook page. If you are stuck for ideas or don’t know where to begin then don’t worry. Your window can be as simple as a string of fairy lights, a candle or as spectacular as you want, just remember to keep it family friendly. The theme is ‘An Arctic Adventure’ so let your mind run wild. Think about the animals which live there, snowy villages and alpine mountains, igloos, skiing, the North Pole, reindeers and a man in a red suit. You can make it as Christmassy as you would like or if you don’t celebrate Christmas then a full winter arctic theme.

Taking part in this event is completely FREE whether you are a window maker or a wanderer. Register now to see your location as well as others displayed on our map. Sign up to our event and become a window maker and register your location on our digital map to create a local trail.
