Fisherrow Window Wanderland

Fisherrow, from west of the harbour to the Esk, and south to North High St/Bridge St

Took place on 18‑20 Dec 2020

This event has already taken place.

Welcome to Fisherrow Window Wanderland

Join Fisherrow Waterfront Group to light up the area this December. With your help we will transform the streets into a magical outdoor gallery for all to enjoy!

How can I take part?

Taking part is FREE and everyone’s welcome.

BE A WINDOW MAKER! You can make a display in the windows of your flat, house, business, car, campervan, shop – or in your front garden! Your display could be as simple as fairy-lights in a window, or let your creativity run wild. Just register your window(s) and have your display ready and lit up for the three evenings. You’ll get a confirmation email (keep an eye on your junk mail!)

There is a loose theme of ‘Winter Wonderland by the Sea’ so think lighthouses, starfish, waves, snow, ice, boats, mermaids, sunsets, dolphins….but all ideas are welcome!

We’d love you to use recycled materials if possible – use those cereal boxes, tissue paper, cellophane, sugar paper, old Christmas cards…

BE A WINDOW WANDERER! Discover all the windows on the map and have a wander 6-9pm on the 18/19/20 Dec and be prepared to be entertained, inspired and amazed!

And of course if you’re a Window Maker you can also light up your windows, then go out and enjoy the trail.

What do I do next?

  • Click on ‘Take part in this event’ to add your location to our map.
  • You’ll get a ‘Welcome Pack’ when you sign in and access to lots of inspiration for windows too
  • Share our posts on social media and tell your friends and neighbours and ask them to get involved!

If you have any questions or would like to help with this event, please contact Katie Swann through Contact organiser on the right or email

Then keep checking back to this page to see our map grow!

I’d like to take part but don’t live in the boundaries of the map.
Bear in mind that this is a
walking trail and we don’t want the area to be too big. If you’d like to be a window maker outside the area you can still ask to sign up but the map gives everyone a good idea of where most windows will be.

My neighbour would like to take part but doesn’t have internet access.
Please could you contact us on their behalf by email and we can add their address manually.
