Join in Maryhill Park’s Window Wanderland; A Walking Trail to Light up our Winter
Once again the Friends of Maryhill Park will be running a Window Wanderland weekend in our area.
As per last year the main event will be Saturday night, but we’ll encourage participants to leave their windows up for the Sunday night too, to give people a second chance to view, in case the weather lets us down.
Window Wanderland is an evening arts trail, where people in a small neighbourhood decorate and light up their windows, inviting neighbours and the wider community to wander the streets and look at their home-made exhibition.
Please sign up if you’d like to join in and start thinking about how you can collaborate with your friends, family and neighbours to ‘dress up’ your windows for the night.
If you’ve never experienced a Window Wanderland before, the basic ideas is to ‘dress up’ your windows however you please – it can be as fancy or as simple as you like, and we can help if you get stuck. It’s first and foremost a community event you don’t have to be an artist to join in. The sooner you sign up, the better as it helps us plan.
The core streets are those in the immediate vicinity of Maryhill park, but those nearby are more than welcome to join in, there are no restrictions around who can participate.
We’ll be holding an artist-led workshop on Sunday 1st March, so bring your ideas or if you’re stuck, or come along and we’ll help you with a simple idea and the means to carry it out.
Workshop will run 2-4pm in the hall of Maryhill Parish Church.
