OX2 Oxford 2018
Took place on 24 Feb 2018
This event has already taken place.
One thing is true; by working, sharing, enjoying together we create a stronger community and a healthier self.
Waterways Association is a wonderful example of a community who has offered many local events for free and has created opportunities for the locals to enjoy time together. With the art project they created by the canal, they have injected us with a piece of daily beauty.
I, as a teacher and a therapist has seen again and again the benefits of people feeling accepted by their peers and their community. Nothing like your own crowd to cheer you on!
This project aims to bring back to the forefront of our minds that sense of comradery, sharing and offering.
The children in SS Philip and James will have a wow week of activities based on those ideas. We are working on bringing in The Yellow Submarine and St. Aloysius.
There will be a workshop, on Saturday midday, in the community room in Waterways, giving the children and/or adults the opportunity to create together their displays.
The displays aim to give joy to the people who create them (individually, as a family, as a building, as a team)and to be an offering to the neighbourhood and the passer-bys for those two evenings.
