WOW Rotherham Year Round encourage the people of Rotherham to come together for our annual Reclaim the Night event, this year will mark our 11th year on Thursday the 27th November 2025. As part of 16 days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we will take back our streets. Working with local businesses and venues, we will light up the town centre and celebrate our high street. Expect joy, hope, and inspiration. Free for all ages, all genders and men are encouraged to be allies.
Reclaim the Night has been prominent in cities and towns across the UK for nearly five decades. Its initial message in the 1970s was the rage and anger that women felt about being given curfews in response to severe violence against women and girls. These reactions are still prevalent today, as women show their fury at having to take extra measures to ensure their own safety within their daily lives.

Walk – 6pm – 6:30pm – Join us outside Rotherham Town Hall to begin our walk around Rotherham Town Centre
Rotherham Town Hall Panel – 6:30pm – 8pm – Join us for an empowering panel featuring inspirational speakers. (Please be aware some topics may include sensitive themes, not appropriate for all audiences)
Every night after 5pm between the 21st November until the 10th December 2025, our town centre will light into action as part of the 16 days of activism against gender based violence.
