St Werburghs Window Wanderland

St Werburghs

Took place on 15‑17 Mar 2024

This event has already taken place.

Friends of St Werburghs Primary School will be organising their very first Window Wanderland in St Werburghs on the 15th -17th March 4-8pm each day.

We thought as we were approaching Spring, and to celebrate all things ecological, a good theme would be Bristol, Wild & Green!

Fancy taking part?

Taking part as a Windowmaker is FREE, and everyone’s welcome. We hope the families of children at the school will join us in creating some lovely windows and will help us raise donations for the school. You can make a display in the windows of your flat, house, school, nursery, shop – or your front garden! For all those who take part, we will post through QR code flyer that you can add in the corner of your display for people to scan and donate! Especially with the latest news from our Head Teacher that next year the schools energy costs will be rising by £35,000 we need donations more than ever.

People can still donate directly here:   https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/charity/fswp

Sign up to take part, and your street will be registered on the map on this website so the community knows that a house or shop on your street is taking part!  Or simply come and have a wander to look at the displays in the windows of St Werburghs on the weekend of the 15th  – 17th March, 4-8pm.

The Scrapstore on Sevier Street is also offering free membership from now until the end of the event for anyone who might want to purchase a basket or trolley of scrap (donations are required). Those who sign up will also benefit from 20% off all supplies in their Art Shop when buying supplies for their window displays! Cafe NapolitaPopti & BeastSonni’s are also small local businesses in our community taking part which we are really excited about.

How to Take Part:

Taking part is great fun  and anyone can do it.  Please don’t feel intimidated. Your display could be as simple as a flower, the earth or fairy-lights in a window. Because its still light at 4pm we suggest you backlight your display until around 6pm, when the room lights should then be enough as it gets dark!  Anything goes… as long as it’s family-friendly! What you create is up to you, from simple to spectacular, whatever you like and you may already have an idea up your sleeve.

  • Click on ‘Take part in this event’ to add your location to our map.

  • Tell your friends and neighbours and ask them to get involved!

  • Use your Street What’s App groups and Next Door to spread the word too.
