Welcome to Bodmin’s Window Wanderland 2020

 

intoBodmin and Bodmin Christmas Lights Committee are delighted to bring this fantastic event to Bodmin. With your help, we are transforming our streets into a magical outdoor gallery each evening, for all the community to enjoy.

We’re creating a fun, friendly, Covid-safe event this winter, and we need you to help us make it happen!

Let’s light up Bodmin!

 

Sounds great! How do I take part?

All you have to do is decorate a window in Bodmin, and add it to the free, interactive map of all the displays, which can be downloaded and shared. Then wrap up warm and take a magical walk around Bodmin’s Window Wanderland.

Taking part as a Windowmaker is FREE and everyone is welcome to have a go. You can make a display in the windows of your flat, house, business, school, nursery, car, campervan, shop – or even in your front garden!

Your display could be as simple as a candle, book or fairy-lights in a window, or you could go all out and decorate the whole house!  Anything goes… as long as it’s family friendly!

 

How do I sign up?

It’s easy!

  1. 1.     Click on ‘Take Part in This Event’ at the top of this page to add your location to our map. When you register you’ll get a welcome pack and access to lots of inspiration for fun window ideas. We also have tutorial videos on our YouTube channel and the intoBodmin social media platforms.
  2. Create your window in time for the start of the event, and make sure it’s lit up every evening until the end date: 5:30pm-8:30pm each evening between the 5th and 13th December. Have fun with your display – anything goes!
  3. Ask your friends and neighbours to get involved! We need as many people taking part as possible – the more displays we have, the more magical Bodmin will become!

Don’t forget to join the buzz on social media! Join the Facebook event Bodmin’s Window Wanderland to keep up to date with the latest news, see other local displays and share your photos with the hashtag #WindowWanderland

 

If I don’t want to decorate a window, can I still join in?

Yes! This event is for everyone to enjoy! If you can’t or don’t want to make a display you can download the free Window Map at the top of this page, wrap up warm and take a magical evening walk around Bodmin’s Window Wanderland between the 5th and 13th December. We recommend that you wait until the last minute to download the map so that all the window makers have time to register – you don’t want to miss any!

You can also help us spread the word by telling your friends and family, join in on social media, share your photos with us or take a look at other displays shared to our Facebook event, Bodmin’s Window Wanderland.
