Cambridge Window Wanderland 2023

Cambridge BID is excited to bring another Window Wanderland event to Cambridge for 2023…

Friday 27^th January – Sunday 19^th February, 2023

This year’s theme is ‘The Living Planet’ and we’re inviting people to take inspiration from our beautiful city or much further afield! Be as creative as you like in interpreting the theme, with a family audience in mind.

Window Wanderland art trails have been held around the world since 2015, and this will be the third for Cambridge. Previous trails have been organised by Cambridge City Council, and this year Cambridge BID is managing the event. 

Want to take part?

Residents across Cambridge are warmly invited to decorate your homes, and showcase the creativity we’ve seen in abundance over the past two years.

Taking part is FREE, and everyone’s welcome. You can make a Window display for the windows of your flat, house, business, school, nursery, caravan… etc!

• The more the merrier – so please talk to your friends, neighbours, schools, and local businesses to engage them too and make the street displays fuller and brighter!

Artist & Community Groups call out

We’re also looking for creative local people, collectives or community groups who would like to decorate a shopfront windows of a Cambridge business during the trail. This is because some businesses who would love to host a Window Wanderland display in their windows but lack the craft skills or time. This is a voluntary opportunity and groups will be credited and recognised in the windows, local press, on the Cambridge BID website etc.

The Cambridge city-centre trail

The trail includes five large-scale artist commissions on buildings lining the route to the city from the train station. Look out for:

·        Ibis Cambridge Central Station (look up – these windows are on the first floor!)

·       50 / 60 Station Road

·       WeWork

·       Clayton Hotel

·       Botanic House

Huge thanks to a number of shops in the city centre that will be decorating their windows for the occasion! All sites will be listed on the downloadable map closer to the event, so look out for this…
