To all the window makers – to all the wanderers – thanks.

It was lovely to see folks out on the streets finding windows (despite the dreadful rain one night!), cycling round to see as many as possible, and folks being surprised by it all and wondering what was happening!

And what a fabulous selection of windows there were. ? Bees, octopuses, trees, planets, elephants, sea scapes, ? fish, forests, volcanoes, sunsets, humming birds, ? mountains, cityscapes… what a wonderful world you showed us.

⭐️If you signed up to make a window you’ll automatically get an email notification when we start planning 2023. But if you didn’t, but you want to hear about it next year,  just click that ‘Send me notifications’ button on our location page. 

⭐️At some point soon we’ll add some of the windows to our gallery page – though unfortunately we have a limit on numbers we can share there. If your window hasn’t been on our instagram feed yet – or you’re not sure because you’re not on social media – please do email it to the organiser via the button on our page.

** 1 week to go!!** 19-22 Feb, 5.30-9pm. 

This time next week you’ll be fixing your design to your window, ready for the 5.30pm kick off on Saturday 19th Feb. We’ve seen some sneak previews where you’ve posted and tagged us on social media and it’s getting exciting! Wonderful colours and clever designs… it’ll be a love song to Our Earth ???

If you haven’t signed up yet there’s still time – ​​https://www.windowwanderland.com/event/homerton-clapton-london-2022/  And as long as you sign up before the opening day you will appear on our downloadable map ??so that folks can include you in their trail of windows.

It’s a fabulous half term project – let the kids take over the design and see the pride they take in it.

Important note for those nearer Victoria Park:

Our friends a bit further south have joined us for their very own Window Wanderland trail – so if you live there you should sign up on their page: https://www.windowwanderland.com/event/victoria-park-2022/  (do this even if you’ve signed up to ours too)

But whether you make a window or not *everyone* is invited to wander around and enjoy the show. Each evening (until 22nd in the Homerton & Clapton area and until 24th in Vicky Park) between 5.30-9pm you can download the map (on the sign up pages) and see how many windows you can spot.

How’s the window design going?  We can’t wait to see all your creative ideas to celebrate ?Our Earth ?… our wonderful world!

If you need some ideas or tips on how to make a window – keep checking back here. We are working on a short video to help you. In the mean time try the links below.

• Relive the magic, or look for inspiration, in the gallery of our last year’s windows. 

• Follow us on FB, Instagram and twitter – share and like.

Most of all.. Spread the word! 

Tell your neighbours and encourage them to take part. It looks brilliant when a few windows are together in one street or bock. You’re welcome to print the flyer, deliver to your community, pop it in your window, share on neighbourhood WhatsApp groups.  (If you’d like some printed flyers to deliver, please message by clicking the ‘organiser’ button on the website).

If you want to take part, but will struggle to source materials to make a window, you’re welcome to come and get free materials. Turn up on Sat 5th Feb or Sat 12th Feb 10-12noon at ArtBash offices for what you need: Round Chapel (Old School Rooms), 2 Powerscroft Rd (press the ArtBash buzzer on the main door by the shed!).

Or simply put the date in your diary, wander round the streets and ENJOY! A map will be downloadable this year on the night *on this page*.

We are pretty excited to announce the dates of the next Homerton & Clapton Window Wanderland:

Saturday 19 – Tuesday 22 February 2022.

And our theme is  ….

?? O U R   E A R T H ??

We only have one home. And as Louis said, we’ve trashed it. How can we make it up to Mother Nature?

Net zero. Climate justice. Reducing carbon emissions. Plant a tree. Save the whale. Reduce plastic. Recycle. Repurpose. Rebel for life. Keep 1.5 degrees alive. This is not a drill. What’s your passion? How can we show our love to our world? What will your window say?

There is no Planet B!

Next February, with your help, we will transform the neighbourhood into a magical outdoor gallery for all to enjoy!

Taking part as a Windowmaker is FREE, and everyone’s welcome. You can make a display in the windows of your flat, house, business, school, nursery, car, campervan, shop, or on the fence outside your block, or in your front garden!

There were some fantastic windows in 2021 – and though we aren’t able to load all of them to this site, our gallery has some great ideas, from the simple to the superb.

What to do next:

• Tell your friends and neighbours – become a ‘neighbourhood champion’ – how many in your block or street can you get to take part?
