Southfields, London 2024

Window Wanderland is returning to Southfields for it’s 8th year in February 2024 (Saturday, 24th & Sunday, 25th February).  A regular on the Southfields circuit, Window Wanderland has become a much loved community event bringing light and joy to the dark winter nights.

With your help our aim is to transform our streets into a magical outdoor gallery for all to see. Taking part is FREE and everyone in the community is welcome. You can make a display in the windows of your flat, house, business, school, nursery, car, campervan, shop – or in your front garden!  “But I’m not creative” I hear you say. Well, you don’t have to be. Your display could be something as simple as fairy lights in the window, a candle, balloons, your favourite book or dress, your dog! – or simply just open your curtains and show us your lovely interiors.  Alternatively you can go all out and stage a performance in your front room, host karaoke in your front garden, open a sweet shop – or project something onto your building. Simple or spectacular, it’s completely up to you. Every window is special.  This is a family event so please bear this in mind when creating your displays.

What to do next:

• You’ll get a ‘Welcome Pack’ when you sign in with access to lots of inspiration for windows.
• Tell your friends and neighbours (especially those who are elderly and don’t use Social Media) and ask them to get involved or help them decorate their windows.

I’m a local mum running this solo in my spare time and any help is much appreciated. Please also spread the word on your street WhatsApp groups and encourage as many people as possible to join in.  Perhaps you have an older neighbour who’d like to take part but just isn’t able – maybe your children could decorate their windows for them.
