Welcome to Windowmere 2020!
Spreading winter warmth and wonder, window by window!
Let’s make our Christmas special this year and give everyone something to smile about.
Help us to celebrate our community spirit and resiliance by decorating your window between the 7th and 27th of December and lighting it up each evening between 6pm and 9pm.
Together our windows will create a magical outdoor gallery for us all to safely enjoy despite Covid challenges.
Anyone can take part either by making their own display or by wandering around the village to see the creations!
Taking part is FREE. You can make a display in the windows of your flat, house, car, caravan, shop – or in your front garden! Anything goes… as long as it’s family friendly!
You only need simple materials to create your display, tissue paper and sugar paper work really well to create silloutes. You’ll get access to a wealth of ideas as soon as you register to take part. We will also be posting some video tutorials on the Bowness and Windermere Forward FB page and we’ll always be here should you need any help or inspiration!
Windows will be judged by local arts orgnasiaitons and community groups on Wednesday the 16th of December with some fantastic prizes up for grabs for best business and best resident in both Windermere and Bowness.
Joining Windowmere is easy:
